Divergent Cosmetics Multi-piece Collector Kit Review

The Divergent Cosmetics Multi-piece Collector Kit came out on March 5 at Sephora. Being a Divergent series fanatic, I had to get my hands on this. For a $59 price tag I feel like you get a ton of stuff in this kit. The case it comes in feels very sturdy and well made. The whole kit weighs about four pounds which is very substantial. Inside you get four lip glosses, three eyeshadow palettes, a face palette, and a double ended brush.  The palettes all feel high quality and have a mirror and magnetic closure. All of the colors are movie related which was a really cute touch. What did bother me though is that the three eyeshadow palettes are named; Abnegation, Dauntless, and Erudite and the face palette is named Divergent so where is Amity? As a Divergent fan this gets on my nerves. For individual product reviews on this kit please look below.

Eyeshadows: In the entire kit there are 12 standard eyeshadows and 3 "high gloss transforming eyeshadows". The color selection in my opinion is perfect, they are all wearable neutral colors with a balanced mixture of shimmer and matte shades. The texture of the eyeshadows are great and all the colors are easy to blend although a few of the shades could be more pigmented.
The "high gloss transforming eyeshadows" are similar to a pressed pigment. The colors are beautiful but two of the three are very similar to each other. It would've been better to me if they picked three very different colors. The formula on these is really nice. They look good applied with a wet or dry brush. However, be prepared because there will be some fallout.

Blush:  The two blushes in this kit are not colors I would really find myself reaching for a lot. The first is a very bright coral shade with a good amount of shimmer. The second is a dusty rose color which is nice but not anything incredibly unique. The colors fit with the theme well they are just not ones I personally would wear super often. Both blushes are very blendable and easy to work with but the formula isn't very long wearing.

Bronzer and Highlighter: The bronzer in this kit isn't matte which is a letdown for me because it can't be used as a contour but it is still beautiful to use as a slight wash of color on the face to warm it up. The highlighter is a perfect vanilla shade with a slight yellow undertone similar to Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm just not as intensely pigmented. It's a beautiful highlighter especially for the teenagers this kit is aimed at who probably have little no experience with highlighters.

Lip glosses: The four lip glosses included in this kit are very easy to wear colors. Two are very nice nudes, one is a deeper rose color with gold shimmer, and one is a deeper warm nude with lots of sparkle. All four feel very nice and moisturizing on the lips. They are not sticky but that means they don't last an incredibly long time and you will need to reapply. All four are pretty sheer which some people may or may not like

Brush: The brush included is a double ended brush with an angled powder brush on one side and an eyeshadow blending brush on the other. They are both good quality. Not as great quality as a MAC or a Sigma brush but by far better than anything from the drugstore. The powder brush is a good size and is big enough to apply all over powder but still small enough to apply blush. It is slightly bigger than a Sigma F40. The eyeshadow blender is very similar a Sigma E40 and is perfect for applying color into the crease or blending out eyeshadow. Personally, I don't like double ended brushes because they are harder to store but I really enjoy the brush in this kit.

Overall: I love this kit. The value you're getting is outstanding! This kit is perfect for anyone starting out with makeup regardless if they are a fan of the series. I believe anyone would enjoy this kit. I love the neutral color selection and the amount of product you're getting. The packaging to me is probably my favorite part. It is so beautiful and eye-catching. The packaging is very high quality and will not fall apart on you. So overall, I think this kit is a must-have for anybody who is a fan of the series or not :)

This kit is limited edition but if it is still available you can get it here
